Annual Events

Each season, Purina Farms hosts special annual gatherings. From egg hunts to trick-or-treating, families can celebrate their favorite holidays at Purina Farms. All of our celebrations are family-friendly, and some are even dog-friendly. Our celebrations include:

  • Springtime Village: March 16-April 3, 2016
  • Egg Hunts: March 26, 2016 at 11a.m. & 2p.m. SOLD OUT
  • International Cheese, Wine & Canine Festival: June 18, 2016. Tickets required. Purchase online prior to June 18 and save. Day of tickets will also be available for purchase at the event.
  • Countrytime BBQ & Bluegrass Festival featuring the Kids Carnival: June 18 & 19, 2016
  • Back to School Fun Fair: August 6 & 7, 2016. Win school supplies and treat your kids to games and inflatable bounce houses.
  • Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge National Championships: October 1, 2016
  • Haunted Hayloft: October 21-23, 2016 & October 28-30, 2016
  • Trunk and Treat for Kids & Dogs: October 22, 2016. Ticket information coming soon.
  • Pet-acular Holiday Bazaar: December 3 & 4, 2016 from 10a.m. – 3p.m. each day. Bring the whole family, including your dog! The event features shopping, live entertainment, a kids play area, dog games and adoptable pets.
  • Breakfast & Craft Workshop with Santa: Dec 3 & 4, 2016 from 8:30a.m. – 10a.m., presented by St. Louis Sprout & About. Ticket information coming soon.

Other Annual Events

  • 5th Annual Veterans Charity Car Show: August 20 from 11AM - 3PM
  • Canine Games for all local dogs and dog lovers: Saturday, October 16. More than 20 different novice canine activities including chasing a lure, running an obstacle course and timed races. Don't forget to also participate in the Canine Costume Contest at 2:30p.m. during Canine Games. 2 events are pre-registration only - Diving Dog Splashes and Canine Good Citizen.  Click HERE to sign-up for diving dog.  The link for Canine Good Citizen will be up soon.
  • Petapalooza for dogs and their people hosted by CBS Radio: Sunday, August 28, 2016
  • Pooch Playdates: January 30, 2016, July 17, 2016 and November 12, 2016 from 11AM - 3PM. Admission is $5 per person with a portion of proceeds benefiting local pet welfare organizations. Dogs play in an indoor playground featuring more than 15 different fun activities and games.
  • Tough Enuff to JUMP! Spring and Fall Fundraisers – April 9, 2016 and September 24, 2016. Test your dog’s aptitude for diving dog while raising money for a good cause.
  • Purina Pro Plan Canine Performance Kids Camp – June 15, June 29, July 13 and July 27.  Kids ages 10-14 can train with the Purina Farms trainers and learn about the sports of diving dog, flying disc and agility.
  • Open Practice Sessions at the Purina Event Center: Practice agility, obedience, rally and conformation on select days throughout the year. $10 per person with proceeds benefiting local St. Louis pet welfare organizations.

Birthday Parties

If you’re searching for a way to celebrate your child’s birthday, Purina Farms would love to host your party. All parties must take place on Saturday or Sunday between 10AM and 2PM. 

Our parties include all of these features:

  • Box lunches with a choice of either corn dog or chicken nuggets along with chips, dessert and a juice or milk carton
  • Customized cupcakes with ice cream
  • 25% off a gift from the Purina Farms gift shop for every child at the party
  • A group wagon ride around the property and up-close-and-personal photo opportunities with some of our animals
  • The birthday boy or girl is acknowledged during the Pro Plan Performance Team Dog Show and he or she gets to be one of the volunteers to milk the cow
  • Printed Purina Farms invitations to send to friends and family

Field Trips

Thousands of St. Louis-area school children travel to Purina Farms every year on field trips. The educational emphasis of Purina Farms makes it perfect for integrating into the curriculum of preschool and elementary school students. From December - February, schools from around the Greater St. Louis area can request the Purina Farms Pets In The Community Program for an all school assembly. The program consists of the Purina Farms trainers and their rescued pets educating kids on responsible pet ownership and entertaining them with amazing canine flying disc performances. Visit Community Outreach to find out how to request the program.
